The Walk of Fame organization has announced that Gal Gadot will be one of the 31 individuals who will receive a star with their name on the iconic California landmark next year. Israeli President Isaac Herzog took to Twitter to congratulate the actress, saying she was always a star. Gadot shared her excitement in an Instagram video, mentioning that her husband was the first to let her know about the award. She expressed her appreciation to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and said that the announcement gives her motivation to continue pursuing what she loves.
Gal Gadot is set to receive a prestigious honor alongside a host of other notable names from the entertainment and sports industries, as well as the American music scene. Scheduled for 2024, the recipients list includes prominent figures such as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, actors Chris Pine, Christina Ricci, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michelle Yeoh, Kerry Washington, the late Chadwick Boseman, musicians Dr. Dre, Gwen Stefani, and Otis Redding, and former tennis player Billie Jean King. Starting her career as a model and beauty queen, Gadot made her Hollywood debut in 2009 with “Fast and Furious,” sharing screen time with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker as a retired Mossad agent. Since then, she has appeared in numerous films and television shows both in Israel and Hollywood.
During her acting career in Israel, Gal Gadot starred in TV series such as “Asfur” and “Kathmandu,” as well as other productions. She also went on to perform in several Fast and Furious movies in Hollywood. However, it was her role as the lead in “Wonder Woman” that truly catapulted her into stardom. Prior to this, she first played the character in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in 2016. The 2017 film “Wonder Woman,” where she acted alongside Chris Pine, was directed by Patty Jenkins and enjoyed international success. It proved that superhero movies with female protagonists have just as much box office potential as any other superhero movie and showcased the ability of women directors in this genre of filmmaking.
After her impressive portrayal of Wonder Woman, Gadot came back to play the role in various DC films. She even starred in the follow-up film “Wonder Woman 1984,” which premiered last year. Another notable project she worked on was the highly budgeted Netflix movie called “Red Notice,” co-starring with Ryan Reynolds, two years ago. Fans were looking forward to seeing Gadot reprise her role as Wonder Woman in the franchise’s third movie under the direction of Jenkins. However, DC made an unexpected decision to scrap the film in December 2022, as they plan to reconstruct their cinematic universe.
Apart from her career as an actress, Gadot has also taken on producing projects. One of them is a series featuring Cleopatra, where she will be playing the main character. She revealed her plans for this in 2020. Meanwhile, the very first star on Hollywood Boulevard, which was named after the director and producer Stanley Kramer, was embedded in 1960. Today, there are already 2,789 stars made of gold that serve as memorials for notable personalities in the entertainment industry in the United States, all of which can be found on the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard.
